Things To Do

At Jack-The-Horse Resort, our guests enjoy lakeside living at it’s finest! So paddle away on brilliant blue waters, experience the thrill of a fish tugging on your line, enjoy the sand beneath your feet, or cozy up to a crackling fire at the water’s edge.

You’re sure to be refreshed and renewed this’s a list of things to do at the resort:

Fishing: There’s fantastic fishing on Jack-The-Horse Lake for beginners and the experienced! Try fishing off the dock or hop in a boat and discover a favorite fishing spot. Northern pike, largemouth bass, crappie & panfish abound!

Relax: The most important activity for any vacation

Beach & Swimming: A sandy beach at the resort is great for swimming and relaxing in the summer sunshine. Make a BIG splash jumping from our swimming dock and raft.

Campfires: A campfire area by the beach is perfect for making smores, watching the stars and more…

Canoe, Kayak & Paddle Boat: Unique bays and largely undeveloped lakeshore make for peaceful paddling on crystal blue waters! We have canoe, paddle boat and kayak rentals (free of charge).

Horseshoe Pit & Volleyball/Badminton: A meadow on the resort property is great for a game of horseshoes, volleyball, croquet, bocce ball, badminton or frisbee.

Wildlife & Bird Watching: With our cabins nestled in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest, wildlife is EVERYWHERE! It’s common to see deer grazing through trees, hear loons calling on the lake and view osprey, bald eagles, blue herons, mallards with ducklings, beavers, otters, grouse and much more!

Hiking, Walking & Biking: Jack-The-Horse Resort is off the beaten path and the roads connecting us to the “outside world” are peaceful and picturesque. Walk less than a mile to the creek of go as far as 10+ miles through a canopy of trees while viewing peek-a-boo lakes along the way.

Free Wifi: Available in our lodge
